Fishers of Men for Jesus Ministries has built a strong and balanced Christian Men's Ministry.

In particular, a big issue for men is battling pride. Pride tells us to be a lone ranger. It gently reminds us of our own self-worth and how isolation and self-teaching is far more impressive and beneficial. Don't give into this false thinking! Unfortunately, for many men, this is how they view the investment of committing to a men's Bible study.

With a men's Bible study, one should expect a raw, under-engineered atmosphere where the Bible teacher, leader, facilitator or author hammers home God's truth dealing specifically with men's issues. There is a mass amount of unapplied truth given directly from scripture that isn't being lived out in men today. Guys are blending with the culture, rather that battling for obedience as God's men. Men are allowing their eyes and minds to wander into areas of lust and fantasizing. And, for many men, standing for integrity in the workplace when everybody else is proudly walking on the unethical road is a non-issue. Men need to chase truth and combat the lie. In today's world, men are spending more time at work, on hobbies, watching TV, and reading the paper than accepting their role and gift as a father, husband, and leader.
· Christian Mentoring - Why Do Men Flee?

"Christian Mentoring" is a term that drives many men full-speed in the opposite direction! Why does the term Christian Mentoring make men so weak in the knees? It's probably a little different for each guy, but speaking in generalities, here are a few ideas:
· · A man's pride tells him to journey alone.
· ·
A man's heart tells him to remain quiet.
· ·
A man's mind tells him nobody will understand.
· ·
A man's emotions tell him to keep it under control. Maybe you can relate to these. Maybe you're already feeling a little uneasy reading this website. Let us assure you, great gain comes when you show up and realize the discomfort you feel is a sign that something good is happening.

Our Men's Ministry has built a framework of eight biblically-balanced benchmarks for a healthy ministry for men.
  • FILLING - Fishers of Men for Jesus is a self-feeder. Consistently studying and applying God's Word independent of the church or small group is essential. To do this, a man must be taught how to study the Bible.
  • TRAINING - Fishers of Men for Jesus receives regular/weekly biblical instruction.
  • PRACTICING - Fishers of Men for Jesus learns how to apply God's Word to all areas of life. It is essential to allowing room for accountability within the men's ministry for the purpose of consistency and obedience to God's Word.
  • UNITING - Fishers of Men for Jesus makes it a priority to connect weekly for the purpose of community, accountability, confession, and prayer.
  • SURVIVING - Fishers of Men for Jesus learns to address major life temptations and/or crises according to his need and life-stage. Support and encouragement from the ministry leader and group is essential.
  • REACHING - Fishers of Men for Jesus gets involved in some form of men's ministry based on his gifts and talents. God has called each of us to pour out to others what He has poured into us.
  • IMPACTING - Fishers of Men for Jesus invests time and resources into the lives of other men. We suggest one-on-one connection throughout the membership shared activities, and spiritual mentoring.
  • SHARING - Fishers of Men for Jesus learn to actively share his faith in order to lead others into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
